Having paused the Qualifying Productions Program during the Covid-19 Pandemic, Parity is thrilled to be bringing back this valuable tool for our industry!

Parity uplifts theatrical productions that meet the 50% gender parity hiring standard (see below) with free promotion through our Qualifying Productions (#ParityQP) program. This free promotion includes being listed in the monthly #ParityQP press release, monthly e-newsletter to our subscribers, social media posts,
and on The Parity Database in our Qualifying Productions (#ParityQP) section.

Since our launch in May 2016, we have provided promotional support to over 600 Qualifying Productions.

To be listed as a Qualifying Production, your production must:

  • Meet our 50% gender parity hiring standard. This means that at least half of the creative team is made up of women, trans, gender-expansive, and/or intersex writers, directors, and designers (see below for full list.)

  • Run for at least six performances. We do not list readings or workshops as Qualifying Productions. If you have a reading or workshop that meets our hiring standard but has fewer than six performances, please reach out to us about the Parity Community Spotlight.

What types of promotion do Qualifying Productions receive?

  • Inclusion in our monthly Qualifying Productions press release.

  • Inclusion in our monthly Qualifying Productions’ e-newsletter sent to over 1,600 subscribers. To be featured in a month’s press release and newsletter, you must submit your QP by the 15th of the prior month.

  • Inclusion in our website’s online database of Qualifying Productions during the run of your production and inclusion indefinitely in our archive of Qualifying Productions when your show closes.

  • A dedicated social media shout-out on our Facebook and Instagram about your Qualifying Production, reaching over 11,500 followers.

  • In addition to all the free promotion we provide, Qualifying Productions also have the opportunity to share discount codes or other incentives with Parity’s audience base.
